SANTIAGO.- An anonymous phone call led police to a man that was found dead this morning in a desolate parcel of land in Puente Alto.

According to Radio Cooperativa, the 22 year-old victim was found lying dead in an unoccupied lot at the intersection of Avenida Eyzaguirre and Balmaceda in the aforementioned municipality.

Police who arrived at the scene observed two pellet wounds to the victim's abdomen.

"By means of an anonymous phone call officers were directed to the area (…) where there was an individual lying on the ground, prompting officials to call an ambulance, but when the ambulance arrived it was apparent that the person had already died", Recabarren stated.

According to police, a clash over money has not been ruled out as motive for the killing.
