SANTIAGO.- Following the discovery of four cases of anti-depressant overdose among students, parents at the Liceo de Niñas in Concepción are concerned about "delinquents" who have been involved in violent activities within the institution.
The president of the establishment's Parent and Guardian Center, Gracia Salas, says there has been an escalation of violence and sexual abuse within the school over the last year.
"We want to shine a light on this situation, and we want those responsible for the crimes within the school to be removed once and for all – we want the principal to take care of the situation", Salas told Radio Cooperativa.
Salas claims that there are only four disciplinary inspectors for the 1,400 students at the school, which raises many concerns regarding violence and lesbianism that has been observed at the educational facility.
Salas insists that the parents' objective is not to raise their daughters with a "homophobic" mentality, but says that they are worried about the fact that the girls go home and talk about what goes on a the school and "no one does anything about it".
