SANTIAGO.- Once again, the Chilean women's roller hockey team is making impressive headway in the sport's World Championships.
"Las Marcianitas", now being coached by Mauricio Lleras, have moved on to the quarter finals after a monumental performance at the tournament being held in Japan, where the team hopes to take home the title once again after taking first place Santiago in 2006.
The national team defeated England this morning with a score of 9-0, cementing their classification to the quarter finals, without registering even one goal scored against them, and currently in first place within the group.
The reigning champions dominated their European competitors throughout the match and managed to triumph in spite of the English team's supporters, proving that their championship title won two years ago was not merely a coincidence.
Before their victory against England, Chile also defeated South Africa by the same score.
The Chilean team will now face the squad that moves into second place within Group B, which is composed of Spain, the United States and India.
