SANTIAGO.- Cobreloa's match against Santiago Morning yielded results that were anything but favorable for the orange-clad team. Marco Antonio Figueroa's squad not only suffered a defeat but also ended up with two key players –Roberto Corney and Eduardo Vargas- injured by the end of the game.

Complications continue to mount due to the fact that Cobreloa's next scheduled rival is Colo Colo, a classic duel for the northern team.

So far, the news is not very encouraging for the Second Region squadron. Corney may be able to play against Colo Colo, but the team's key forward, Vargas, is not expected to make it to next week's match in the Municipality of Calama.

On Monday, Vargas underwent several medical examinations indicating that he has a sprain in his the medial-collateral ligament of his right knee, meaning that he will need to stay off of the field for some three weeks, although doctors are trying their best to offer him a speedy recovery.

According to the team medics, the injury is a 2nd degree sprain, meaning that the ligament was partially torn.

Vargas has been one of the main players on the team after Figueroa arrived. The young athlete was a used as a starter during Cobreloa's the last five games.
