SANTIAGO.- Officials belonging to the Asset Laundering Department of the National Bureau of Police Investigations (PDI) have carried out two important raids on currency exchange offices located in the heart of downtown Santiago.

Law enforcement searched two currency exchange offices belonging to Beach Tour Ltda., located at 1010 and 1111 Agustinas.

According to preliminary information, the police were led to the offices following an investigation into a case of money laundering.

Officers from the Canine Tracking Unit of the PDI also arrived along with two dogs, presumably in search of drugs.

The raid ended in five arrests, including the owners of the currency exchange business, identified as María, Sergio y Rigoberto Valenzuela Silva.
