SANTIAGO.- The president of the PRI, Deputy Jaime Mulet, has declared that Sebastián Piñera, Ricardo Lagos, Eduardo Frei, Soledad Alvear and José Miguel Insulza are not the solution for the country and that "without a doubt", Senator Adolfo Zalidvar is presidential material. Furthermore, Mulet stated that it is "very probable" that his party will designate a candidate.

"Even though we still haven't defined a presidential candidate, it is very probable that will we have a candidate to loosen the political stronghold and to move our ideas forward, because none of the current candidates listed in the polls reflect what we stand for", he asserted.

Mulet also criticized the fact that the political parties are acting like businesses, trying to squeeze out new competitors, since they believe in putting up walls to prevent new incorporations and avoid losing the privileged positions that are currently in power.

"Not approving the change to a two-party system today cannot only be attributed to the right, but can also be attributed to the fact that the government itself, from the start, made no profound effort to change it. They benefit from the way it is. That is why we are here, we do want change and we are making it happen", he declared.
