SEVILLA.- The Chief of medical service for Club Betis, Tomás Calero, confirmed today that the recuperation needed for a sprained knee that one of Chile's national team forwards, Mark González, suffered during the squad's World Cup qualifying match against Argentina will be approximately three months.
Calero explained there have not been many changes in the player's condition since he suffered the injury ten days ago. "The recuperation process began, but we will have to wait until the player is in Sevilla to know what the concrete rehabilitation time will be", he maintained.
Nevertheless, the Betis Club doctor stated that Mark Gonzalez' return would take some time due to the effects left by the head trauma caused by the same maneuver that injured the player's knee, after colliding with Argentine defensive player Nicolás Burdisso.
"The progress is good, but he still has some vertigo. He is not even allowed to travel for ten days", Calero added.
