SANTIAGO.- The last suspect in the murder of an 8 year-old boy, Nelson A.M.J., who received a gunshot wound to the head after three individuals broke into his apartment located in the municipality of Renca and opened fire last Thursday, was formally arraigned on charges this morning.
20 year-old Claudio Alfonso Muñoz González, who possesses previous criminal records for robbery, was arrested by officers belonging to the Homicide Unit of the Federal Bureau of Police Investigations (PDI) at 11:00PM last night in the Achupallas neighborhood, located in the northern sector of Viña del Mar.
According to the chief of the police unit, Sub-prefect Luis Sandoval, Muñoz is the last and final suspect to be arrested in connection to the case.
According to police, Muñoz has already confessed to taking part in the crime and may have helped to corroborate the participation of the two other suspects, Jorge and Víctor Arrendondo, who were detained just after the incident took place last week.
