SANTIAGO.- After the Alianza obtained more votes in the election of mayors for the first time, and the Concertación led the elections for city councilors, Minister of Interior Edmundo Pérez Yoma has called on those who proposed that the Concertación use two separate candidate lists to "acknowledge their mistake".
"Due to dispersion, a lack of unity, and not taking into account regional factors, we have suffered a great loss with regards to mayors", Pérez Yoma told Radio Cooperativa.
While assuring that "the strategy to disperse did not work", Pérez Yoma indicated that there would be a cabinet change in November in light of the upcoming Parliamentary elections next year.
The President of the Republic "is going to speak to each and every one of the ministers to find out who will stay and who will accompany her right up until the very end", he asserted.
When asked if he would be one of the ministers to leave the cabinet, Pérez Yoma assured that he wants to stay with the President until the end of her time in office and denied the possibility of running for Senator of the Region of Tarapacá.
