SANTIAGO.- Thanks to the activation of an alarm, as well as a phone call from a security guard, police were able to intervene in an ATM robbery early this morning at a Banco de Chile branch located in the municipality of Puente Alto.
At approximately four o’clock this morning, four individuals arrived in a truck, subsequently crashing into the metallic protection bars inside the establishment and breaking the front window pains. The assailants then proceeded to tie up the cash machine with a cable. The thieves were not able to complete the robbery however, after the vehicle became stuck in the metallic fencing they had left on the ground.
After the perpetrators fled the scene, police officers from the OS-9 and OS-10 units arrived and began an investigation in an attempt to locate and arrest the suspects.
