SANTIAGO.- Two teens tried to avoid capture by jumping in a pool after attempting to burglarize a home in the municipality of Las Condes.
The boys, both 16 years old, were trying to break open the side door of a home on Calle Bombay when they were discovered by police.
The teens attempted to flee the scene by running to a home next door, where they submerged themselves in a swimming pool to avoid being captured by police.
"They had no choice except to enter the backyard of one of the homes and jump in the swimming pool while holding their breath underwater", stated Police Captain Patricio Faune.
Nevertheless, Radio Cooperativa reported that the young men finally were not able to stay under water any longer and were arrested by uniformed police officers.
