SANTIAGO.- At two thirty this morning a small fire was reported at the Teletón Theater, however no injuries or structural damages were reported.
Employees became alarmed after seeing smoke coming from the make-up room as they were preparing the stage for the Teletón event, which will take place on the 28th and 29th of November.
A press release sent by the Teletón Foundation indicated that there had been a small fire that was swiftly controlled by extinguishers located within the establishment as well as emergency systems that were automatically activated by the presence of the smoke.
The make-up room was the only area that was damaged by the blaze, while the stage as well as other parts of the theater are currently functioning as normal, meaning that the event scheduled for this weekend will go ahead as planned.
Three firefighting departments were dispatched to the Teletón Theater in response to the incident. The firefighters checked the area and collected preliminary evidence in order to investigate the cause of the flames.
