No Chileans injured following hotel attacks in Mumbai

This was the information released by the Second Secretary of the Chilean Embassy in New Delhi.

SANTIAGO.- The Second Secretary of the Chilean Embassy in New Delhi, Sebastián Molina, has assured that there have so far been reports of dead or injured Chilean nationals as a result of the attacks that have been taking place since yesterday in Mumbai, affecting at least three hotels as well as other points within the city.


1"We have been in touch with the police authorities and with the honorary consulate that we have in Mumbai; there have been no Chilean victims: there were no Chileans staying at any of the hotels", the diplomat told Radio Cooperativa.


While emphatically stating, "we have no reports of any injured Chileans", Molina indicated, "our officials are constantly following the situation along with police".


With regards to the measures that have been taken, the Second Secretary of the Chilean Embassy said that "it is natural and normal that security measures tend to increase when there is a situation like this".


The official death toll for the recent attacks in Bombay has so far reached 101 people, while 250 more have been injured.
