LONDON.- Copper closed with a 1.81% drop today at the London Metal Exchange (LME) after trading for US$ 1.60141 per pound of "grade A", compared to US$ 1.63089 on Monday and US$ 1.62431 on Friday.
As a result, the monthly average fell to US$ 1.61615 while the yearly average slipped to US$ 3.29733.
Meanwhile, the future-3-month price quote ended at US$ 1.61434 per pound, down 1.82% from Monday (US$ 1.64427).
At the LME, stocks increased by 1,825 metric tons to 293,025. So far this year, there has been an accumulated increase of 95,575 MT (+48.40%).
