VALPARAÍSO.- The prime suspect in a triple homicide that occurred in the Fifth Region town of Peñablanca last night was questioned by police today at the Villa Alemana Investigation Unit.

According to preliminary reports, the man –who may be related to the family- was arrested as he left the prison in Limache, where he was sentenced to fulfil nocturnal custody.

The tragic scene was discovered last night in the El Carmen sector of Peñablanca in Villa Alemana, where the bodies of three people were found: a 55 year-old mother, her seventeen year-old son and a housekeeper.

The prosecutor in charge of the case, Mónica Arancibia, has confirmed that the victims may have been suffocated to death, although the motive for the killings is still under investigation.

According to initial reports, the homeowner was found lying on her right side on top of her bed with her hands tied behind her back. The teenage boy was found in a similar position, while the housekeeper was found face down on a bed with both her hands and feet tied.
