LONDON.- Copper closed with a 1.94% gain today at the London Metal Exchange (LME) after trading for US$ 1.44265 per pound of "grade A" material, compared to US$ 1.41521 on Tuesday and US$ 1.42473 on Monday.
Despite the increase, the monthly average dropped to US$ 1.42473 while the yearly average slipped to US$ 3.25151.
Meanwhile, the future-3-month price quote ended at US$ 1.45875 per pound, up 2.52% from Tuesday (US$ 1.42292).
At the LME, stocks increased by 1,025 metric tons to 303,600. So far this year, there has been an accumulated increase of 106,150 MT (+53.76%).
