LONDON.- Copper closed with a 1.64% gain today at the London Metal Exchange (LME) after trading for US$ 1.46624 per pound of "grade A" material, compared to US$ 1.44265 on Wednesday and US$ 1.41521 on Tuesday.
Despite the gain however, the monthly average dropped to US$ 1.49353, while the yearly average slipped to US$ 3.24414.
Meanwhile, the future-3-month price quote ended at US$ 1.47917 per pound, up 1.40% from Wednesday (US$ 1.45875).
At the LME, stocks decreased by 750 metric tons to 302,850. So far this year, there has been an accumulated increase of 105,400 MT (+53.38%).
