Collision in El Golf leaves three people injured

One of the victims of the crash has lost a portion of brain mass and been hospitalized in critical condition at the Hospital Militar.

SANTIAGO.- A car accident that took place at the intersection of Calle Getrudis Echeñique and Callao in the neighbourhood of El Golf of the Las Condes municipality has left three people injured, with one of the victims  severely wounded.


The collision occurred at approximately 5:00 AM this morning, when a Citröen C3 vehicle crashed into a Peugeot 106 after one of the automobiles allegedly failed to respect a yield sign at the intersection.


According to Radio Cooperativa, all of those injured were travelling in the Peugeot and have been identified as María José Goycolea, who was taken to the Hospital del Salvador, while Brazilian national Andrés Santos is being treated for minor injuries at the Hospital Militar.


A third crash victim, identified as Manuel Gallardo Vergara, was also taken to the Hospital Militar medical center and has been listed in critical condition after suffering loss of brain matter following an impact to his head.
