SANTIAGO.- President Michelle Bachelet took a moment to relax in Brazil today, where she has travelled to participate in this semester's MERCOSUR summit that took place in Salvador de Bahía.
This morning, the President was photographed by the Spanish agency EFE swimming along the Costa do Sauípe with María Angélica Álvarez (also known as "Jupi"), who is the planning director for La Moneda.
The photographs show President Bachelet in the water wearing a black swimsuit and then on the sand in a red beach wrap.
During her stay in Brazil, the President also led the meeting of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR), where Néstor Kirchner's possible nomination as Executive Secretary of the organization was being discussed.
Michelle Bachelet plans to return to Chile this afternoon.
