Son of business tycoon Felipe Lamarca dies in car crash

The vehicle the man was driving slammed into a tree at the intersection of Avenida Kennedy and Las Tranqueras.

SANTIAGO.- The son of business tycoon Felipe Lamarca Claro, 31 year-old Felipe Lamaraca Délano, died this morning at the Clínica Las Condes medical centre after getting into a car accident.


The Subaru Impreza the man was driving slammed into a tree at the intersection of Kennedy and Las Tranqueras in the municipality of Vitacura.


Rescue teams and firefighters were dispatched to the scene of the accident in order to remove Lamarca from the automobile and transfer him by ambulance to the Clínica Las Condes medical center.


"At approximately 3:30 AM (…), the vehicle veered off of the road and crashed into a tree. The driver died at the Clínica Las Condes medical center and the possible cause of the crash is currently under investigation", stated a police officer that was present at the scene of the crash.


Felipe Lamarca Délano was a talented athlete that played for the Universidad Católica Polo team and also practiced golf.
