Man kills stepfather in La Reina

SANTIAGO.- The second Interfamily murder to happen in 24 hours took place early this morning after a 23 year-old man killed his stepfather in the municipality of La Reina.

According to Radio Cooperativa, the killing took place at a home located in on the corner of Calle Talinay and Parinacota in the aforementioned municipality, where Jaime Bustamante Iturra repeatedly stabbed his stepfather, identified as 43 year-old Roberto Bustamante Ulloa, after a confrontation between the two over causes that are still under investigation.

Reports indicate that the victim –whose last name had been taken by the defendant only days ago- was taken to the Posta Cuatro medical center, where he eventually died as a result of the wounds, one of which was to his torso.

Officers belonging to the Homicide Brigade of the Bureau of Police Investigations arrived at the scene of the crime and arrested Bustamante Iturra, who was later taken to an office on Calle Condell in Providencia. The young man is to be arraigned at the Santiago Justice Center.
