SANTIAGO.- The favorable performance of Chilean national Humberto Suazo at the Torneo de Clausura has allowed the soccer star to be named as the season's top goal-scorer for Mexican soccer.

The bald-headed offensive player for Monterrey only managed to score four points in the Apertura tournament during the second semester, however the 16 goals he put away at the Clausura tournament have given him the title of most effective shooter for 2008 with 20 successful shots.

The preeminent goal-scorer for the Apertura tournament was Chilean national Hector Mancilla, who scored 11 points allowing Toluca to take home the championship title.

Coming in behind Suazo was Brazilian national Itamar Batista de Jaguares (18) and Ecuadorian national Christian Benítez de Santos (17).
