Seven armed teenagers hold up mini-market in Las Condes

Four of the teens were arrested while waiting for transportation.

SANTIAGO.- Four minors between the ages of 13 and 16 were arrested by police after robbing a mini-market located in the municipality of Las Condes along with three other teens.


According to Radio Cooperativa, the adolescents entered a Big John mini-market located on the corner of Apoquindo and El Golf and proceeded to threaten customers with a shotgun. Afterwards, the teens beat 25 year-old cashier Moisés Plaza Marín with a beer bottle, fracturing his skull.


The assailants fled the mini-market with money from the cash registers. Four of the teens however, were later arrested by police along Calle Tomás Moro while boarding a bus.


Those arrested allegedly were from the municipality of Maipú and all possess previous criminal records. The case of the youngest teen arrested will be handled by the family courts.


The other three adolescents, one 14 year-old and two 16 year-olds, will be charged with armed robbery.
