Bank in Providencia robbed at gunpoint

SANTIAGO. -  Three armed individuals held up an Edwards Citi bank branch located in Providencia very close to Tobalaba this morning, making off with an amount of money that has yet to be determined.

According to preliminary reports, the suspects threatened the security guard at the bank and took his gun.  The individuals then proceeded to hold up cashiers and steal the cash.

At least 15 people inside the bank at the time of the incident were also threatened by the assailants.

After being alerted about the situation, officers from the 19th Police Commissary of Providencia were dispatched to the scene in an extensive operation to capture those responsible for the heist.
