Thieves steal 40 million pesos from home in La Reina

According to a relative of the family, one of the assailants sexually assaulted a 45 year-old woman.

SANTIAGO. -  A group of robbers is currently on the run with over 40 million pesos worth of jewelry and other stolen possessions after breaking into family residence located in the municipality of La Reina last night.


The incident took place at a home of kindergarten teacher Zandra Parisi, who is the sister of Franco Parisi, located on Calle Helsby in the aforementioned municipality.  The perpetrators arrived at 11:45 PM last night and broke open the front gate of the house before entering the residence through a sliding glass window located in the living room.


According to Luis Moraga, who is a cousin of the victim, Zandra was home at the time of the break-in along with her husband, who has not been identified, and another four individuals including an 8 year-old boy.  The assailants proceeded to threaten the people located inside the home in order to steal various items.


Moraga added that the thieves beat the owner of the home in the head and sexually abused her cousin.  After being inside the house for only 15 minutes, the suspects made off with more than 20 million pesos in medical equipment, jewelry, checkbooks, electronics and other items, which they loaded into the homeowner’s truck in order to flee the scene.
