Fatal accident in La Florida

SANTIAGO.- A man was killed early this morning after crashing his grey Audi vehicle into the roadside barriers located at the intersection of Avenida Vicuña Mackenna and Diego Portales in the municipality of La Florida.

The fatal accident took place at approximately 3:00 AM near bus station 26 of the major city route when the deceased man, who has been preliminarily identified as 45 year-old Manuel Clambert, was heading northbound in his vehicle and lost control of the automobile due to causes that are still being investigated.

The victim had been traveling alone in the car and was killed after the force of the crash caused his head to impact the windshield of the vehicle.

Police have said that fire fighters were called to remove the victim from what remained of the automobile, which was completely totaled by the accident.
