SANTIAGO.- Despite the fact that owners of the Tennis and Golf store in Vitacura had the gates outside their establishment reinforced following a recent robbery, a group of thieves managed to break into the business for the third time in less than a month.
The perpetrators broke open the gate and smashed the glass window pane of the store. According to Radio Cooperativa, the method used to gain entrance to the business was the same as the robberies staged on the 20th and 26th of December 2008.
The manager of the store, Felipe Gómez declared that the matter will be handled and said that the next person who breaks into his store, "will not come out again, I can guarantee you that".
Gómez criticized the lack of concern shown by authorities and stated that the public prosecutor in charge of investigating the previous robberies has not contacted him, indicating that he is unaware of any preliminary investigation reports. "Here every Chilean has to take matters into his own hands because nowadays I have no help from authorities", he asserted.
The store owner also asserted that those responsible for the latest robbery are the same individuals that have broken into the business on previous occasions.
