New case of arson in the La Araucanía region

Fifteen hooded individuals entered a farm with firearms and warned the caretaker to leave.

SANTIAGO.- A new arson attack has affected the La Araucanía region.  This time, agricultural businessman Pablo Harden fell victim to 15 hooded individuals who set fire to two of his fields, located along the road linking Lautaro and Curacautín.


According to Radio Cooperativa, the suspects entered the property with firearms and warned the caretaker to leave the area.  Minutes later, the assailants set fire to the fields, damages are estimated to be worth millions of pesos.


Police officers arrived at the scene along with officials belonging to the Bureau of Police Investigations (PDI), who are compiling evidence of the crime to present to the Public Prosecutor’s Office. 


Authorities have yet to take action in response to this latest attack.
