SANTIAGO. -  “We are going to have her removed”.  This was the announcement made this morning by the deputy and member of the Chamber Human Rights Commission, Sergio Aguiló (PS), with regards to his fellow organization member Karla Rubilar´s (RN) position as president of the group after she made erroneous statements about falsely dissappeared prisoners.

“If Karla Rubilar does not resign, we are going to have her removed.  I am absolutely certain that we have enough votes for this to happen and we are going to go through with it at 3:30PM this afternoon”, the deputy told Radio Cooperativa.

Aguiló stated that in order to avoid the measure, he had suggested to Rubilar on several occasions both “publicly and privately” to resign, but claimed that she “refuses to do so”.

With regards to the defensive argument that Rubilar may have acted in good faith, Aguiló stated that the deputy has told many lies, specifically about her links to Attorney Javier Gómez,  and to the former Director of the Chilean Secret Police (DINA), Manuel Contreras.
