Perpetrators flee break-in in Peñalolén with four million pesos

The burglars tied-up and threatened the homeowner, ransacked the house and fled in the victim’s vehicle.

SANTIAGO.– A family in Peñalolén fell victim to a violent assault early this morning when five subjects entered their home and managed to escape with more than four million pesos in possessions, including the homeowner's car.


The group stole a plasma television, jewelry, small appliances and an exclusive watch, amongst other items.


According to Radio Cooperativa, the female owner of the home arrived just as the burglars were breaking in. They threatened her and proceeded to tie her up.


Police have indicated that the group is made up of young men and possibly a few minors and that they escaped in the victim’s automobile.


Law enforcement is currently mounting an intensive search for the suspects.
