First photographs of Bachelet with Fidel Castro released

SANTIAGO.– Less than 24 hours after the surprise meeting between President Michelle Bachelet and Cuban leader Fidel Castro, the Government has published the first images of the encounter.

In the photographs both leaders are smiling, and Castro is wearing a jacket made by the German brand "Adidas2 and US brand "Nike" pants.

The one-and-a-half hour meeting took place yesterday afternoon. The Chilean Head of State was participating in an official activity at the Salvador Allende memorial house in Havana when she received an unexpected visit from the President of Cuba, Raúl Castro, who had come to invite her to meet with his brother.

Following the meeting, Bachelet affirmed that the Cuban leader is in very good health and described the encounter as "very pleasing, very important, of very high quality".
