Three drown on beaches of the Fifth Region

The victims include one Chinese citizen and two minors.

SANTIAGO.– Three individuals, one adult and two children, died as a result of drowning in the waters of distinct beaches of the Fifth Region.


One of the victims was a Chinese citizen, who lost his life at the Cachagua beach. According to reports, the man was capturing shellfish on the rocks when a wave hit him and he fell into the water.


Further South, two cousins, a 12-year-old girl and a boy of 14, drowned while swimming in the Maipo river estuary in the sector of San Antonio.


The navy has mounted an extensive operation to find the body of the 12 year-old girl, who they have yet to locate, reported radio Bío Bío.
