SANTIAGO.- In order to determine whether the cause of death was suicide or the result of an accident, the Bureau of Police Investigations (PDI) is currently investigating the last hours of 16 year-old Carlos Droguette, who died on Monday of this week after falling from the third floor of the Internado Nacional Barros Arana (INBA) boarding school.

"There is a lapse of time during which we need to determine what happened, from the moment he said goodbye to his parents until the moment he died; that is what we are trying to reconstruct in order to determine the young man's state of mind by gathering accounts", Víctor Hernández, Sub-commissary of the Homicide Brigade of the PDI, told Radio Cooperativa.

"We hope to have concrete results regarding this situation, which we became aware of early yesterday morning", stated Hernández.

The official clarified that there are several theories that emerge in a case like this, however, after determining that there was no third party involvement, two scenarios are most likely: suicide or an accident.
