SANTIAGO.- The waters are far from calm on the Colo Colo team. A statement made yesterday by Marcelo Barticciotto speaking of "disloyalty" to the team on the part of players has made for a very tense situation.

The Colo Colo coach held a face-to-face meeting this morning with his squadron after making the affirmations, even threatening to slash players from the team.

Barticciotto met with his group for more than one hour in Quito, supposedly conversing about issues that had been brought up about him yesterday by the press.

According to Radio Cooperativa, the meeting was held completely behind closed doors and there were no members of the team management present.

The situation has emerged as a result of Colo Colo's poor performance in the Apertura tournament, just one day before a Copa Libertadores match against Liga Deportiva Universitaria.

Colo Colo is currently best situated in the Liberators championship, leading the scoreboard with six points. Meanwhile, the team is listed 14th in the Apertura Tournament, with 11 points.
