The players received the documents, however the bank told them that there was not enough money to cash them.

SANTIAGO.- The morning is off to a bad start for Cobreloa. The players showed up just as always to practice and were even dressed and on the field.

Before beginning the training session however, they wanted to confirm something: whether the checks they had been given by the club management could be cashed.

They called the bank to ask if the club account possessed sufficient funds and the response was negative. There was not enough money in the account to pay the checks, and so the players decided not to practice just as they had agreed upon yesterday.

Furthermore, there are rumors of the possible resignation of Coach Marcelo Trobbiani, who has faced other problems on the team due to a lack of economic resources.

A couple of weeks ago, Trobbiani publicly spoke about a complaint that had been filed regarding his treatment of a group of young players housed at a residence in the city.  The complaint caused a significant rift to emerge within team management.
