SANTIAGO.- Marcelo Barticciotto explained his resignation from Colo Colo today by issuing a short statement, he did not respond questions.
"As a coaching team, we cannot permit nor coexist with the circumstances that have emerged in recent days, which go against our professional ethics and our values as people. The lack of respect and low level of professionalism of some the members cannot be tolerated", he stated.
"The majority of the players have been very professional and very respectful; we have nothing but gratitude for them. If we were strong enough to continue on, it was due solely to those people that were dedicated to our work and the Colo Colo fans, which are currently the healthiest aspect of the club".
"I know that Colo Colo fans may be thinking now that we are leaving two days before the classic match. No, this situation would have been the same whether we were playing against Melipilla or Manchester. We, as a coaching team, agreed that the situation could no longer continue", he said.
The coach also thanked directors of the club saying, "they have treated us with respect, they never meddled with technical decisions. We are resigning due to a specific situation", he added.
