SANTIAGO.- 21 year-old Jessica Armijo Olivares returned with her baby yesterday afternoon to the Santa Ana subway station, where she gave birth on April 15 of this year.
During the visit, station employees were allowed to hold little Martín Andrés.
Accompanied by her family, Jessica thanked the Metro employees that assisted her labor and helped her through the successful birth of her baby without any major complications.
The woman began experiencing strong bouts of pain on Wednesday morning last week as she was on her way to a medical facility and was forced to de-board the metro train at the Santa Ana station.
A pair of guards noticed the woman was in pain and offered to help by taking her to the station's first aid room, where two station chiefs and a paramedic aided her with the birth.
Metro spokespersons have said that the underground transportation company is pleased that the mother and baby are in good health and thanked the employees that participated in the birth of Martín Andrés.
