SANTIAGO.- According to the Association of Retirement Fund Administrators (AFP), retirement funds have exhibited a significant increase so far in April, adding to the recuperation seen during the first quarter of the year.

The most significant increases for the month were reported by the most risky funds A and B, which displayed earnings of 8.72% and 6.18% respectively. According to preliminary figures observed through the 27th of this month, the other funds exhibited earnings of 3.72% for C; 2.11% for and 0.70% for E.

The favorable results for April can be attributed to an increase in the majority of stock markets worldwide.

If there are no major changes in the last two days of the month, the accumulated earnings figure for this year will go up favorably for all funds, but especially for those risky.

In fact, According to the AFP Association, if the earnings are maintained, they would be the most significant increase in the history of the mutual funds.

With these figures, fund A has accumulated an UF earnings increase of 10.55%; 9.43% for B; 7.84% for C; 7.16% for D and 6.80% for E.
