VALDIVIA.- A fire is currently burning down a strip club and a colonial home that serves as a center for technical training in downtown Valdivia.
According to Radio Cooperativa, the blaze began at approximately 6:40 AM this morning and is currently being fought by five fire departments.
Preliminary information indicates that the fire may have begun at a strip club.
The Chief of Valdivia Firefighters, Víctor Wersikowsky, said that the colonial-style home was a historical landmark for the city (owned by the Carrasco family) and had been abandoned.
Chief Wesikowsky asserted that the fire-fighters “have practically controlled” the flames.
