Accident in La Pintana leaves two people dead and another two critically injured

The fatal victims of the crash, a grandfather and his grandson, were on their way to a medical facility after the boy had been electrocuted.

SANTIAGO.- An accident reported at approximately 3:00 AM this morning on the corner of Santa Rosa Ave. and Lo Martínez in the municipality of La Pintana, has left two people dead and two others critically injured.


The fatal victims, a grandfather and his grandson, have been identified as 53 year-old Manuel Heriberto Campos Vivanco and 12 year-old Julio Ignacio Leiva Campos.


The red Lada being driven by Campos Vivanco was reportedly speeding to take the young boy to a medical facility after he had electrocuted himself. The vehicle then crashed into a grey Hyundai Accent that was being driven by 18 year-old Nathan Abraham Ruminot Chacón. Ruminot Chacón escaped with minor injuries.


Two other passengers, 31 year-old Marcelo Alejandro Leiva Chávez, along with a man who has yet to be identified, were seriously injured and are currently listed in critical condition.


25 year-old Claudio Carrillo Carrillo and 24 year-old Lincon Plaza Soriano, both passengers of the Lada, were also injured, but are not considered to be in critical condition.
