SANTIAGO. - After meeting with Queen Elizabeth II in London, where she is currently on an official visit, President Michelle Bachelet emphasized the excellent relationship between the two countries.
Following her visit to the Windsor castle, the British monarch’s official residence, Bachelet reminded people that throughout her reign, Elizabeth II has had a maintained a formidable link with Chile.
“Chile is a country that she visited in 1968 with her husband, it is a country that has been visited by her sons and even her grandson, and a country with which she recognizes a splendid relationship throughout history”, said Bachelet.
Bachelet also mentioned the level of comprehension Queen Elizabeth has concerning current events in Chile saying, “the Queen was very well-informed about these two years of government administration”.
Additionally, the President revealed that part of the private meeting with Queen Elizabeth was dedicated to speaking about the development of the Progressive Leaders Summit and that she “wished the best in growth and development for Chile and the Chilean people, represented by their President”.
