SANTIAGO.- The president of the Christian Democracy, Soledad Alvear, admitted today that the latest CEP poll (which indicates that Sebastián Piñera is currently leading the presidential race) is a warning for her party, saying that actions need to be taken more assertively to turn the figures around.
“This needs to be heeded as a warning. Secondly, I have been through painful situations where I have had to make difficult decisions at a cost. That is also a sign for the DC and we have to know how to listen to the polls”, the senator declared on Radio Cooperativa.
In the poll results, Alvear reported a plunge of 6 percentage points (from 53% to 47%) in her approval rating, dropping her from first place to fifth place. Additionally, she appears at number 8 on the voting intentions poll, with a preference rate of 8%, falling behind Sebasián Piñera, Ricardo Lags, and José Miguel Insulza and Joaquín Lavin.
