SANTIAGO.– Changing their initial position on the matter, police have given authorization today for Madonna fans to sleep outside of the National Stadium, where the queen of pop will give two concerts on December 10 and 11.

Colonel of Police Special Forces Jorge Fernández announced this measure after the musician's followers had previously been prohibited from camping in the area.

To accommodate the crowd, the avenue of Maratón which is parallel to the stadium has been equipped with port-a-potties and ambulances, and in order to get in the fans must first present their ticket to one of the concerts.

A 31 year-old psychologist from the city of Antofagasta was the first one to arrive to the special area early yesterday morning, after which other fan club members began to arrive and set up.

By Monday evening, some 60 people were already in line to get into the stadium, but later that night police evacuated them for not having a camping permit.
