SANTIAGO.- Police were able to capture four thieves early this morning after they fell from a roof  8 meters high while trying to  burglarize the Carrier air conditioning company in Macul.

According to Radio Cooperativa, the assailants arrived in two vehicles carrying firearms, which they used to threaten a security guard at the building before tying him up and locking him in an office.

After removing four million pesos from a safe box, the suspects were beginning to load their vehicles with computers and other items when the police arrived.  The assailants attempted to flee the scene by using the roof of the building to jump onto the top of an adjacent car dealership.

"The officers entered the factory and spotted an individual, who began to flee along with three others along the roof of the building towards the car dealership, where they fell to the ground and were arrested inside the business.  All of the intruders were taken to Salvador Hospital to be treated for the injuries they suffered as a result of the fall", stated Police Captain Mauricio Moro.
