Luis Schmidt: Minister Velasco still does not understand the real nature of our country in these times

SANTIAGO. -  Following statements made by Minister of Finance Andrés Velasco, the president of the National Agricultural Society (SNA), Luis Schmidt, has said that “the minister still does not understand the real nature of our country in these times”.

Schmidt maintained that there are current problems that must be solved and stated, “there is no political sensitivity right now to confront these problems”, and added that Velasco needs to take the appropriate measures.

“A good tailor must know how to make a good suit for every one of the citizens in this country. That is his job”, Schmidt said while referring to statements made during Velasco´s presentation.

Additionally, Schmidt deemed it “curious” that, given the high prices of commodities (especially copper), “the country is not growing”.
