Police detain group of minors accused of stealing taxis

SANTIAGO.– A group of three teenagers were detained today in the municipality of Padre Hurtado, the minors are accused of repeatedly holding up and stealing from taxi drivers who work in the western zone of Santiago. 

The three teens, two age15 and one age 17, would get into the taxis where they would then proceed to threaten the drivers and steal the vehicles.

According to Radio Cooperativa, three of the victims have already identified the minors as perpetrators of the robberies.

The taxi driver and owner of the vehicle that the boys were driving when they were caught had been given a knife wound on his forearm from one of the teens.
