SANTIAGO.- The East Metropolitan Public Prosecutor's Office arraigned a domestic worker on charges of beating a six year old boy, as well as his mother (the woman's employer), in the municipality of Las Condes.
The defendant has been identified as Ana Castro Andaur who, just after 11:00AM yesterday was confronted by the boy's mother after violently pulling on the child's ears.
According to statements made by the mother to Emol, the woman had left her son in the apartment on Napoleón street in El Golf while she went to the bank.
"When I returned, I found him crying and he said that the nanny had pulled him by the ears", stated the woman.
The mother added that, following the attack, "I told her: 'you can't treat my son like that, so take your things and leave right now' (…) She began to insult me and then grabbed me by the neck, she threw me, she ripped off my necklace and kicked me in the leg. I finally got her off of me and locked myself in my bedroom to call the police".
The domestic worker was arrested after police arrived, while the victim and her son were taken to the Hospital Militar, where they were diagnosed with moderate injuries.
