SANTIAGO.- The $7,000 peso payment for those charged with the responsibility of monitors during this Sunday's election will be paid in the second week of November.

The National Treasury Office has announced that the payment will be made either by a bank account deposit or a check, depending on which method is preferred by the person being paid.

To receive the compensation, the monitors must fill out one form per electoral reception table, which will be delivered by the person in charge of the locale.

Meanwhile, those who do not indicate a bank account will be sent a check by way of a certified post letter to the address indicated on the form. The checks will be sent during the second week of November.

In the event that deposits are rejected by banking institutions, they will be replaced by electronic certificates that can cashed by the individual at any Banco Estado branch.

Any checks that are returned by the Chilean Postal Services will be sent to the corresponding regional or provincial Treasury Offices, where they can be picked up by the electoral monitors who participated in the process.
