Ten injured in Transantiago bus collision in Las Condes

SANTIAGO. -  Ten people were left with varying degrees of injuries after a collision between two Transantiago buses on the corner of Avenida Alejandro Fleming and Padre Le Paige, in the municipality of Las Condes.

According to the captain of the 47th Commissary of Los Dominicos, Patricio Faunes, the accident took place at 8:15 AM, when the driver of the route 427 bus –who has yet to be identified— attempted to use the brakes of the vehicle, which did not respond.

As a result, the bus collided with the back of another Transantiago bus traveling the 501 route that had stopped to pick up passengers.

10 people were injured in the accident, prompting firefighters and emergency medical teams to be dispatched to the scene. Those injured were taken to the Hospital del Salvador, Posta Ariztía, Mutual de Seguridad and Hospital del Trabajador medical centers, depending upon the nature of their injuries.
