SANTIAGO. -   According to the Secretary General of the OAS, José Miguel Insulza (who is one of the special guests invited to the United States Presidential Inaugural Ceremony today) nations are hoping that more open dialogue will be fostered by the administration of Barack Obama, who is the first African-American president in the history of the United States.

“Other governments are hoping for more dialogue, a relationship where no one tries to force their terms upon anyone else with an emphasis on seeking agreements and consensus.  More than a change of topic, it is a change of style”, indicated Insulza.

According to the Secretary General of the Organization of American States, the world economic crisis and the two wars currently raging in the Middle East will be inherited from the George W. Bush administration and Obama will have to face them in the short term.

The prison in Guantanamo will be another one of the items on Obama´s agenda. “He will certainly decide to close it down”, asserted Insulza.
